Francesca “Frankie” Brescia is a 23-year old queer filmmaker from New Jersey. She exploded onto the queer film festival circuit with her much celebrated debut animated film, Lovie Dovie, in 2022. Lovie Dovie received both national and international recognition and praise including a multitude of awards highlighted by an Official Selection at the 2023 Outfest Los Angeles LGBTQ+ Film Festival, Best Animation at the 2022 San Francisco Queer Film Festival, and Best Student Film at the 2023 Virginia Queer Film Festival.

 

Brescia is best known for the emotional and authentic intensity that radiates from her work. She is hopelessly obsessed with portraying the complexities of the queer experience and delivers the LGBTQ+ community the cathartic representation they deserve, sealed with that romantic, kiss-in-the-rain ending.
